Carl Bryan began his paving career when he was 22 and was employed by the state of South Carolina. Carl worked for W. C. Wall Construction for 8 years before partnering with Jan H. Bryan to form Aiken Asphalt Paving.

Aiken Asphalt Paving was renamed to Pave-Way of Augusta, Aiken and their headquarters was relocated from Aiken to Gordon Highway in 1978.

Today, Tripp Bryan is the General manager of Pave-Way of Augusta, Aiken and is responsible for the daily operations of the firm.
